Believe it or not, my story with cleaning started when I was about 10 years old, helping my mom flip houses. I was obsessed with watching her take something worn down and turn it into something beautiful. I was convinced I’d grow up and do the same thing. Then… life happened. I became a mom, built a family, worked, struggled, started over more than once—and somewhere along the way, cleaning definitely wasn’t what I thought I’d be doing with my life. Plot twist: I’m actually really freaking good at it. After working professionally in the cleaning industry, I started seeing things differently. It had become so corporate—high prices, rushed jobs, inconsistent quality, and very little real connection between the people cleaning the home and the people living in it. And I kept thinking: this could be done differently. Because I also know what the other side looks like. I’m the mom who gets overwhelmed. The woman juggling a million things who can look around her own house and think, Where the hell do I even start? That’s why judgment-free isn’t just something cute on SimpleShine’s website. I mean it. Your house can be messy. Life can be messy. You don’t owe me an explanation. Somewhere along the way, the thing I never planned on doing became something I genuinely love. I realized I’m still doing what that 10-year-old girl loved most—I get to walk into something overwhelming and help make it feel better. Maybe I’m not flipping houses like I once imagined, but I’m still helping transform homes. And I’ve learned that something as “simple” as cleaning can actually make a real difference in someone’s life. A clean home won’t fix everything—but it can give an overwhelmed mom room to breathe, take one thing off a struggling family’s plate, and help someone feel at home in their space again. And sometimes, that’s exactly the kind of help that matters most. That’s what SimpleShine became for me. And my vision doesn’t stop at cleaning.
